Many teams approach research either too late or with the wrong questions. Often, the questions they ask are overly focused on metrics and too far removed from user needs and pain points. My role begins at this point: I work on reframing the questions before selecting methods. I combine different approaches to find the "right" why and unblock product/user growth.
Research matched to where your product actually is.

User research in 2026
Generative AI has reshaped research. Secondary research, recruitment, synthesis, and pattern recognition are faster than ever! Then, AI raises the stakes for the part that can't be automated: deciding what a finding actually means for your specific business, your specific users, and where your product is right now. Separating signal from noise has always been the researcher’s job, and it's just more consequential now. Excited for the new era of research!

Good research looks different depending on where your product is: 1) Early-stage teams need to understand who they're building for and why. 2) Growth-stage teams need to know why users aren't converting, returning, or forming habits. 3) Mature products need to find the next edge.
I work across the full arc: from open-ended discovery to behavioral research that explains what users actually do and why. This includes user attitude, habit formation, and engagement studies: how mindsets and routines get built, what breaks them, and how product decisions can work with behavior rather than against it.

Most teams hit the same wall: one researcher, too many requests, lack of good system. I work with product, design, data, and engineering leads to find where research is getting stuck, and build the infrastructure to fix it.
This helps making sure the right questions get asked at the right moments, and that insights don't die in a slide deck. I've built research functions from zero at multiple companies and know what actually scales versus what looks good on paper.

Growth teams run experiments. Research tells you which ones are worth running. I help teams diagnose what's actually blocking conversion, retention, or expansion — and identify the behavioral and attitudinal patterns that point to where real growth is hiding.
Invest in what’s next and why users aren't doing what your metrics say they should be doing.
